This is the permission letter I sent to Brook requesting copyright permission to use his song:

Hello Brook

The reason for this email is to ask for permission to use The Montagues’ ‘Bird Song’ music track within our media coursework. As you are the composer of the song I require copyright permission from you to use the song for this project. As a group we believe copyrighting is important as it is the law that gives the creators rights to protect their work, which in turn promotes creativity. We hope that you allow us permission of copyright for the use of The Montagues ‘Bird Song’.
